R P Smith Cowboy Poet

R.P. Smith visited the Lexington Public Library on Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m.  R.P. Smith is the 4th generation to raise cattle on the Pine Crest Ranch near Broken Bow. His first poem was inspired after selling a cow too cheap.  He has gone on to share his poetry in 16 states and Canada including the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering.  His program included poetry and anecdotes of his family as well as life on the ranch.  This program was sponsored by the Lexington Public Library, the Lexington Public Library Memorial Fund, the Friends of the Lexington Public Library, and the Lexington Community Foundation.
